Internship/Service Experience:
I found ULIP to be one of the greatest experiences in my college career thus far. It felt great to get out of the classroom and to see how people involved in the “real world” of work actually do things. Working at CRIS and ODJFS gave me a multi-level view of refugee services work, as well as insights into both government and non-profit jobs, something that I have found immensely useful as I look ahead to life after college. It additionally gave me more guidance on where I want to be going in the last two years of college and has allowed me to adjust my course appropriately. After completing the program I felt more centered around my true goals and values, and it’s given me a jumping-off point for future self-reflection, an important skill that I hope to take with me through the rest of my life.
