Internship/Service Experience:
ULIP was a fantastic experience for me. I think I would not be where I am today without the internship. Of course, that's also due to the company I interned for (Morgan Stanley), which got me into financial services and the world of mutual funds, but it was also the overall experience that was great.
I also enjoyed the not-for-profit aspect of tutoring immigrant children in English and Math - something that stands in complete contrast to the multi billion dollar industry I worked for during my professional internship. It illustrated the gaps between rich and poor that are very much present in our society today.
The other great aspect of the experience was living in Chicago. I really enjoyed the city and its people. I liked it so much that after graduation I returned to Chicago to live and work there for a year. To summarize, I am extremely glad and fortunate that I had the opportunity to participate in the program. It was certainly a gateway to my future career.
