Internship/Service Experience:
I worked as an intern at the Cleveland Council on World Affairs, specifically with the International Visitors Program. I worked on creating programs for international visitors who were in the U.S. on government-sponsored programs. Tasks included researching local resources, arranging professional meetings, setting up cultural opportunities, and accompanying visiting groups during their stay in Cleveland. I met lawyers, bankers, politicians, journalists, and other professionals from all parts of the world, so I was exposed to so many interesting global issues. I also learned how Cleveland fits into the international scene, and I developed a new appreciation for my native city. My service day was spent with children at University Hospitals. Just as with my internship, I could not predict who I would meet next or how my perspective would change by the end of the day.
